What is Mesothelioma ?

a cancer which caused by exposure to asbestos. A cancer occur at protective lining which covers most of internal organs, known as mesothelium. The common place is pleura –a protective lining of lungs-, and it is called pleural mesothelioma. Second is peritoneum –a lining of abdominal cavity-, is called peritoneal mesothelioma. The third is pericardium –a lining at heart-, is called pericardial mesothelioma.
The symptoms of mesothelioma are shortness of breath, chest wall pain, and weight loss. That symptoms will not appear until many years after the exposure has occurred. Unlike lung cancer, there is no association between smoking and mesothelioma, but smoking increases risks of other asbestos-induced cancer.
